Meet some of the people who care for your pet!




Dr. Laura Weis
DVM
Dr. Weis graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998 with the highest combined standing in both clinical and classroom work. She then moved to Bucks County to practice at Richboro Veterinary Hospital and later Doylestown Veterinary Hospital, before taking over Holiday House Pet Resort in 2004. Dr. Weis graduated from Cornell University with honors in biology in 1991. In her free time she enjoys gardening and volunteering at her children's school. She shares her home with her husband, three sons, dog Mirabelle, and two cats Bal Briggan and Aloysius.

Dr. Ransome Weis
DVM
Dr. Weis graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996 and has since been in small animal practice, first in Virginia and then in Bucks County. Dr. Weis and his wife, Dr. Laura Weis, bought Doylestown Veterinary Hospital, formerly Animal Clinic Doylestown, in 2002.  His particular interests include surgery and infectious diseases.  Dr. Weis completed his undergraduate degrees with majors in biology, chemistry, and mathematics at Dickinson College in 1977. Before attending veterinary school, he worked as a teacher. He spends his spare time with his wife, three sons, dog, Mirabelle, and two cats, Bal Briggan and Aloysius.


Dr. Lois Palin
VMD
Dr. Palin is a 1991 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated with honors from the College of Wooster with a B.A. in chemistry in 1987. Dr. Palin has practiced veterinary medicine in Bucks County for 20 years. She joined the knowledgeable and caring staff of Doylestown Veterinary Hospital in June, 2001. She is dedicated to developing lasting relationships and providing the best care for her patients and their families. Dr. Palin lives in Upper Makefield with her husband, Jim, and their two beautiful children, Monica and Jimmy. Their home is made complete with a Labrador retriever, Tate, and their two cats, George and Mooch. In her spare time, Dr. Palin enjoys studying piano, playing tennis, skiing and traveling with her family.


Dr. Ashlea Erk
VMD
Dr. Ashlea Erk graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, and spent the next five years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She gained experience first as an emergency clinician, and then spent the next four years in a busy small animal practice. Dr. Erk is also a certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, having received her training in Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians in 2007. She is eager to integrate this service into the offerings at Doylestown Veterinary Hospital as another tool to enhance patient comfort and treat a variety of medical conditions. In late 2010 Dr. Erk returned to Pennsylvania with her husband, an emergency veterinarian at CARES, and their two young children. She enjoys practicing high quality veterinary medicine and has a special interest in internal medicine.
